Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the OurBloc application (ourbloc.app), operated by SmartLogoz, LLC. OurBloc is a community business discovery tool. By using OurBloc, you agree to these terms.

1. Use of OurBloc

OurBloc is provided as a free consumer tool for discovering community-owned businesses. You may browse, search, and view business profiles without creating an account. You must not use OurBloc to scrape, harvest, or systematically collect business data.

2. Business Listings

Business listings are submitted by the businesses themselves through SmartLogoz. OurBloc does not independently verify business ownership identity claims. We rely on businesses' declarations under penalty of perjury at the time of registration. If you believe a listing contains false or fraudulent information, report it to trust@smartlogoz.com.

3. Intellectual Property

The OurBloc application, including its community symbol system, interface design, and underlying technology, is owned by SmartLogoz, LLC. Business logos displayed on OurBloc are owned by their respective businesses. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute the OurBloc application or its content.

4. Location Services

OurBloc requests device location to provide proximity-based search results. Location access is optional. You grant OurBloc temporary access to your location only when you explicitly tap "Locate me." We do not store your location persistently.

5. Disclaimer

OURBLOC IS PROVIDED "AS IS." SMARTLOGOZ MAKES NO WARRANTY THAT BUSINESS LISTINGS ARE CURRENT, ACCURATE, OR COMPLETE. SMARTLOGOZ IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALITY, SAFETY, OR LEGALITY OF BUSINESSES LISTED. YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH LISTED BUSINESSES ARE SOLELY BETWEEN YOU AND THOSE BUSINESSES.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SMARTLOGOZ'S LIABILITY ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OURBLOC IS LIMITED TO $0 (ZERO DOLLARS), AS OURBLOC IS A FREE SERVICE.

7. PWA & Offline Use

OurBloc may be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Cached data in offline mode may be stale. Business hours, locations, and availability change — always verify directly with the business before visiting.

8. Reviews — Leaving Feedback

You may leave a star rating (1–5) and written review for any business listed on OurBloc. By submitting a review, you confirm that it reflects a genuine personal experience and complies with our content rules: no discriminatory language, no threats or harassment, no personal identifying information about business owners, and no demonstrably false factual claims. Reviews are subject to removal for violations. Rate limiting applies: a maximum of 3 reviews per hour per device.

9. Reviews — You May Be Reviewed Too

Important: Please read this section carefully. OurBloc is part of the SmartLogoz platform, which operates a mutual review system. This means:

• Businesses registered on SmartLogoz may submit a private review of you following a transaction or verified interaction with their business.
• Simultaneous reveal: Neither you nor the business can view each other's review until both parties have submitted one, or until a 14-day window closes. This prevents retaliatory reviews.
• What can be reviewed: Businesses may review your conduct, transaction accuracy, and reliability only. Reviews may not reference your race, gender, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.
• Who can see it: Your rating is visible only to verified SmartLogoz businesses — never publicly displayed on any consumer-facing page.
• Not for adverse action: Your rating may not be used for credit, lending, housing, employment, insurance, or any similar decision. Such use is a violation of SmartLogoz's Terms of Service.

10. Your Review Rights & Transparency

You have the following rights regarding reviews submitted about you:

• Right to view: You can see all reviews submitted about you in your OurBloc account settings.
• Right to respond: You may submit one written response per review, permanently attached beneath it and visible to anyone who views the review.
• Right to dispute: You may dispute any review you believe is discriminatory, retaliatory, or submitted without a genuine interaction. Submit disputes to trust@smartlogoz.com. We respond within 10 business days.
• Right to delete: You may request deletion of your review data at any time per our Privacy Policy.
• Retention: Reviews about you are retained for 24 months or until you delete your account, whichever comes first.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in Travis County, Texas.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms at any time. The "last updated" date reflects the most recent version. Continued use of OurBloc constitutes acceptance.
